The wrapped and bandaged hands that I draw are symbolic of the idea of progress in society. We are constantly trying to improve ourselves and there’s a forward trend in civilisation, things are getting better all the time. A wrapped and bandaged hand is done so that it heals and means that it will get better. This artwork is a memorial to that idea of progress.
